Similan island liveaboard trips last 4 days and leave either from Phuket island on the west coast of Thailand or Thaplamu one and half hours north of Phuket. Travelling overnight they arrive in the Similan islands on the following morning to begin your first days diving. Continuing north over the course of the trip to Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and finally the amazing Richelieu rock. The Similan islands are famous as the premier dive spot for diving in Thailand and rightly so. Lying approximately 35 miles off the west coast of Thailand in the Andaman sea these 9 beautiful islands host the best diving in Thailand. Known for their white sand beaches, crystal blue waters and warm tropical nights the Similans are the jewels in the Andaman sea. The name Similan islands comes from the Malay word for nine, sembilan, from the olden days of the sea gypsies that would travel up from Malaysia to fish and still to this day leave their legacy in the names of the islands and the language of some of the older fishermen. The Similan Islands are home to a huge variety of marine life and offer incredible opportunities to encounter some of the larger inhabitants of the oceans such as manta rays and with a bit of luck a whale shark. Often referred to as some of the best diving in the world the stunning soft corals displays and amazing macro life secure the Similan islands place as one of the top destinations in the world.
Similan islands liveaboards leave from Phuket on Thailand's west coast or from Taplamu one and a half hours north of Phuket and directly East of the Similans. Each liveaboard has it's own itinerary and route but effectively covers the same sites as each other.

Mermaid2's Similan islands liveaboard also includes the Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and Richelieu Rock areas north of the Similan islands. The Thailand high season on the west coast runs from November to May with a typical Similans liveaboard taking 4 days/4 nights and including 14 dives. With Mermaid there also exists the opportunity to combine your trip with a Hin Daeng / Phi Phi liveaboard on Mermaid II or a Burma liveaboard to the Mergui Archipelago area on Mermaid I to make your trip a full Thailand safari and / or including diving in Burma.

Pawara is a one of a kind luxury liveaboard that has only recently entered the scene. She set sail for the first time on February 2006 having been newly constructed by Phuket’s highly experienced ship-builders. Pawara is the result of a design that has blended together the modern amenities of today’s living with the classic Thai craftsmanship. The decoration and setting have been selected to provide you with a Thai-style ambience. Pawara is an extremely spacious 35 meters long steel hulled liveaboard providing a large and stable platform from which to explore the Andaman Sea. Boasting a huge 35 square meters lounge, an air-conditioned dining room, a massive 72 square meters sundeck and a spacious gearing up area combines to ensure that you enjoy your diving experience whilst being able relax between dives in style.

SY Diva Andaman is 35 meters long with a 7 meter beam and offers 8 comfortable cabins fully furnished with air-conditioning, en-suite bathroom and LCD screen. Queeen scuba is a 28-meters long and just over 7-meters wide, twin-engine steel hull motor boat with the highest safety standards on board.
MV Queen Scuba was established in the year 2003 has been operating in the Similan islands in Thailand from November to May each year providing the best diving in Thailand and from June to Novembr in the Komodo marine park in Indonesia. Catering to 21 guests in 8 cabins (1 Master, 5 Vip, 1 standard double, 1 srandard triple and 1 standard quad share). This large vessel has plenty of space for relaxing in between dives in the air-conditioned saloon, the outdoor dining area, as well as the large sundeck. The large dive platform ensures no one feels crowded when preparing for the next dive. Our Chef is very experienced and well known for her cooking in the Phuket area. She will create delicious cuisine from Traditional Thai food to mouthwatering western courses. Fresh seasonal fruits and snacks are served throughout the day. On the first night, we will serve a welcome dinner before leaving for the Similan Islands. In the mornings before diving there will be croissants, cake, toast, fruit, coffee, and tea. After the first dive, a full American Style Breakfast will be served with eggs, bacon, beans, potatoes, sausage and more. Lunch and Dinner will be either delicious Thai dishes or western dishes all meals served Buffet-style in the sitting area of the main deck. We can cater to all dietary requirements, please send us your requirements in advance.
